Community Climate Talk

A ‘Community Climate Talk’ is to be given by local scientist, Lucy Hogarth at St Mary’s Church on Balham High Road, 7pm on Wednesday July 20th.

Lucy, 28, a PHD student from University College London, is one of a team of scientists touring 20 towns and cities this summer to talk about the climate crisis, share their knowledge and help local communities respond to the issues. Her talk will highlight climate impacts in the capital including dangerous heat, flooding and poor air quality.

“The nationwide climate talks are designed to reach out to all sectors of the community, allowing people to share their hopes and fears, and offering the chance to come together to tackle the emergency.”

Refreshments will be provided so people can sit down together, talk to other people from their community, and ask any questions of the scientists and local climate activists afterwards.

The talk is free and there’s no need to book.
